As the last event before our summer break, we’ve put together a brilliant match-up of 2 contrasting poets experienced and new, Southern and Northern, male and female. Mark Gwynne Jones and Deanna Rodger

Mark Gwynne Jones is a five times fringe-award winner, and well known for mind- altering poetry with an almost music-hall edge. He mixes humour and poignancy with great skill, making his work contagious, gritty and sometimes startlingly sensitive.

‘Inspired… one of the most accomplished performance poets in the land…drawing the audience into a world where things are not quite what they seem’  The Guardian

‘I always stipulate that who ever is on with me hasn’t got to be any good – this one got past me – I don’t know how, but heads will roll.’ John Cooper Clarke

Deanna Rodger is a rising young star of the London poetry scene. A host of Come Rhyme With Me and Chill Pill, she is making a name for herself with honest, well-crafted, funny but sincere poetry. In 2007 she became Farrago’s youngest ever slam champion.

Open Mic Slam – will be last one before the final in September. This season’s winners include David Lee Morgan, Lionheart, Stephanie Dogfoot, Richard Purnell, Gilbert Francois and Poet Curious. Win a place to compete against them, or just be a judge in the audience! 1st come 1st served. 8 places available
