Hammer & Tongue National Final 31st March 2012, Wilton’s Music Hall

Across the 6 regions of Hammer & Tongue, open mic contestants have convinced the people of their area to make them regional champions. Now on the 31st March at the beautiful Wilton’s Music Hall, Grace’s Alley, off Cable Street, not far from Tower Bridge, comes the chance for an inter-city, national poetry competition to be judged by randomly selected members of the audience, in a full day of what promises to be top quality, exciting spoken word.

The event starts at 1pm with team slam heat 1: Brighton vs Cambridge vs Hackney. The top scoring team from that heat will have a chance again to show off their collective talents against the winner from the 3pm heat: Bristol vs. Camden vs Oxford.

In the evening, at 7pm, the slammers go it alone for an individual slam involving 19 winners and runners up from across the U.K. Tickets are £8 for the daytime, £10 for the evening or just £12 for the whole thing. You can book them here.
